During the evening of Monday, December 27th, 2010, crews were alerted to a single vehicle accident with wires down on Liberty Way, between Taylor Drive and Virginia Drive.  Crews found a truck on top of the guardrail that had taken out a utility pole that had guide lines attached to it.  Duquesne Light responded to the scene and removed electrical hazards.

Engine 184 handled the scene, while Ambulance 610 blocked Liberty Way at Bellbridge Road.  The roadway was also closed at Washington Blvd & Liberty Way by member’s personal vehicles.

A friend of the driver brought a backhoe to help remove the truck off the guardrail.  Mendlowitz Trucking was also on scene assisting with towing duties.

No injuries occurred.  Also on scene were Lincoln police, Liberty police, Glassport Police, and Elizabeth Twp EMS.
