June 10th, 2011 – During the afternoon of Friday June 10th, crews were dispatched for a motorcycle accident near the Clairton/Glassport Bridge in Lincoln.  Chief 184 held Liberty Rescue 183 and Clairton Rescue 123 in station and Engine 184 and Ambulance 610 responded to the scene.  The accident occurred on Lincoln Blvd at the intersection of Coursin Road.  Clairton EMS and Elizabeth Twp EMS were also on scene.  Ambulance 610 transported one patient to a Pittsburgh hospital.

June 9th, 2011 – The busy stretch continues, as crews responded to a house fire on McLean Drive in Lincoln Borough during the afternoon of Wednesday the 8th.

Engine 184 arrived on scene and found a working fire in a bedroom.  Crews from Liberty 183, and Port Vue 237 arrived on scene shortly after and assisted with establishing a water supply, fire suppression, and ventilation.  Interior crews were able to contain the fire to the original room of origin.

Elizabeth Borough Engine 139 was requested and responded to the scene for manpower.  Blaine Hill Engine 142 was put on standby for Lincoln and Elizabeth Borough during the call.

Crews on scene had to deal with 90+ degree temperatures.  Two firefighters were transported to local hospitals for heat exhaustion.

June 8th, 2011 – Around 1am on on Wednesday, crews were alerted for a vehicle accident on Pierce Road.  While enroute, dispatch informed incoming units that a vehicle was overturned and a gas meter was leaking.

Engine 184 arrived on scene to find a vehicle on its roof with all occupants out.  A trash line was pulled from the engine and the vehicle was stabilized with cribbing.  Liberty Rescue 183 also responded and assisted on scene.  Oil dry was applied to the roadway to control leaking fluids, and crews cleaned up a large amounts of glass, bricks, and vehicle parts from the road.  A representative from People’s Gas arrived on scene and attended to the gas meter.  The driver of the vehicle was not injured in the crash.

June 7th, 2011 – Over the last two days our volunteers have answered 4 calls related to smoking trees in wires and downed trees.  During Monday afternoon, June 6th, crews Lincoln VFRC was called to Lovedale Road about a mile up from the Carriage Inn for a tree smoking in wires.  Engine 184 met up with the caller, and found vines arcing on high tension lines near the near bridge between Fuerher Drive and Mill Hill Road.

A couple hours after, Engine 184 assisted Lincoln PD with the removal of a tree blocking Yough Road.

Tuesday brought another smoking tree in wires call on Pierce Road, and shortly after that call was another tree down, this time on West Smithfield street near Liberty Way.
