Lincoln 184, Liberty 183, and Port Vue 237 were dispatched to a possible residential structure fire shortly after 10pm on Saturday July 4th. Updates by police and Elizabeth Twp EMS reported flames showing and possible explosions or fireworks going off.
Engine 184 responded with 4 crew members and Tanker 184-1 responded at the same time as well. Engine 184 crew started fire attack with a hand line and deck gun. Engine 183 and Engine 237 arrived shortly after and assisted with establishing a water supply and fire attack. Due to the age of the structure, and amount of fire load, Chief 184 requested Central 147 and Elizabeth Boro 139 to the scene for additional manpower.
Crews battled through some adverse conditions including a 2nd floor collapse,a weak, unstable roof, and an initial downed power line in the back yard near the heaviest fire load. Extensive overhaul was needed due to the condition of the structure.
